Project “Functional Clothing”. The Power of Resilience and Style

Project “Functional Clothing”. The Power of Resilience and Style
Table of contents

This is a story about the strength of masculine character, ambition, and resilience. At the heart of the project - service members who lost limbs but prove by their own example that limits exist only in our minds. They do not stop in the face of challenges, they make history and move Ukraine forward. These men went through the war and remained strong in a new body. We know: the body may change, but the desire to look dignified remains unchanged.

    Main Mission

To show and inspire service members with amputations to unlock their potential, go beyond the familiar, and act boldly. The project aims to make it clear: even after the heaviest losses, life does not end. On the contrary, a person can find new strength and opportunities to realize themselves in service, career, creativity, or any other field. The main heroes of the project demonstrate by personal example that true strength lies in actions, loyalty to one’s values, continuous growth, and love for Ukraine. They prove: each of us can do more than it might seem at first glance.

Heroes - Unbreakable Examples of Courage

    Stanislav “Morty” Ryzhynkov

Stanislav Ryzhynkov, call sign “Morty” - a veteran of the “Azov” Special Purpose Detachment. He began his military service back in 2008 and, from the first day of the full-scale invasion, took part in the fierce defense of Mariupol. There, Stanislav was severely wounded in battle. He was captured and spent 45 days in captivity before being released in a prisoner exchange. Due to his wounds, Stanislav lost his left arm; he is one of the thousands of Ukrainian warriors who lost limbs in this war. Yet neither captivity nor amputation broke his spirit. Today, Stanislav continues to live to the fullest, engages in self-development, and inspires other fighters not to give up.

For Stanislav, a special classic suit was created and tailored to his needs. His jacket has a detachable segment on the left sleeve; when necessary, the long part of the sleeve can be removed and replaced with a shorter one. This construction allows the sleeve length to be adjusted for different needs and situations. The jacket’s construction also provides the option to similarly modify the right sleeve for symmetry and convenience. Hidden zippers are sewn into the sleeve, so a portion can be detached or rolled up easily and discreetly. All these adjustments were made with Stanislav’s anatomical proportions in mind, so the jacket remains comfortable and unrestricted, while retaining its elegant look.

In addition to the jacket, the craftsmen also took care of a shirt for Stanislav. The left sleeve of the shirt was specifically adjusted for optimal fit and freedom of movement; now the shirt does not interfere with the prosthesis and is comfortable to wear. Importantly, these adjustments are almost invisible to the eye: the classic silhouette, neat seams, and overall appearance of the shirt remain unchanged. Stanislav can wear these clothes every day or to formal events, feeling confident.

    Pavlo “Pokhom”

Pavlo, call sign “Pokhom” - an active-duty service member of the 12th “Azov” Brigade. Within the unit, he served as a combat medic, saving the lives of comrades under fire. While performing his duty, Pavlo himself was wounded and lost his left leg. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation, mastering his prosthesis, and restoring physical fitness. Despite the severe trial, Pavlo maintains his fighting spirit and continues to serve the Motherland, proving by his own example that amputation is not a sentence.

Special functional trousers were designed for Pavlo, taking into account the specifics of wearing a prosthesis. The left leg of these trousers opens along the side for the entire length - this allows you to easily put on and secure the prosthesis without extra effort. In addition, the lower part of the left leg can be detached if needed, turning the trousers into shorts. Such adaptability gives Pavlo freedom in different conditions: he feels equally comfortable during training and in everyday life. At the same time, the trousers retain their classic silhouette and stylish appearance — at first glance, you wouldn’t even say they include special elements. Pavlo has gained the opportunity to wear elegant clothing that does not restrict him but instead emphasizes his confidence and vitality.

Style Without Limits: Comfort and Confidence from YARMICH

In this project, we focus more on people and their unbreakable spirit than on clothing. However, clothing plays an important role in helping the heroes feel like themselves. That’s why the mission of YARMICH - is to give service members with amputations the opportunity to stay true to their own style, putting comfort and adaptability first. The classic clothing adaptation service is designed to unlock potential. Every wardrobe element is adapted to the needs of a specific warrior, giving freedom of movement, self-confidence, and a sense of dignity.

The heroes of the project show that resilience is manifested not only in battle, but also in everyday life — in how they carry themselves, overcome daily challenges, and continue to dream and act. Their example inspires us not to give up and to go beyond the familiar, because each of us is capable of more than it may seem.
