Pitti Uomo 108: how Florence opened the Spring-Summer 2026 season and set the tone in menswear
Table of contents

Pitti Uomo - the world’s largest professional menswear fair, held twice a year in Florence. The event is a strategic business platform that brings together leading brands, buyers, designers, and fashion analysts. In this article, we dive into the events of the 108th edition of Pitti Uomo, which officially opened the Spring–Summer 2026 season. What surprised this season, which trends came to the fore, and what awaits menswear in the near future? Get ready for inspiration!

History and significance of the event

Pitti Uomo plays a key role in the global fashion industry: this is where new collections are presented, innovative materials and silhouettes are showcased, distribution contracts are signed, and ideas are tested that later shape the market. Most participants are professionals who live and make a living from fashion. For many, Pitti Uomo is one of the best places to get inspired for future looks and upcoming seasons. It is no coincidence that the event is rightly called the “heart” of classic and contemporary menswear, setting the direction for the development of men’s fashion in a global context.

    Key trends

Pitti Uomo 108 showcased a blend of relaxed tailoring, innovative fabrics, and expressive accessories.

    • Color palette. This year is dominated by brown tones, especially darker ones, replacing the beige shades of previous years. There is a noticeable presence of creamy, muted colors and an elegant dark navy look.
    • Silhouettes. The trend toward relaxed yet tailored cuts continues: wide trousers with an optimal hem width of about 20–21 cm appear more often, as do elongated jackets with wide lapels.
    • Fabrics. Linen and its blends (linen, silk, wool) are in favor, as is seersucker — the ideal summer fabric with a characteristic puckered stripe texture. Denim is actively used not only in casual looks but also in suits.
    • Suits. Summer models are often unlined for better breathability. Double-breasted jackets come in various iterations and are often worn open for a more effortless look. Cream suits are more versatile than pure white and easier to combine.
    • Accessories. They continue to play a key role, adding individuality and depth.
      • Footwear: loafers (horsebit, penny, tassel, “Belgian”) remain favorites. A comeback of woven loafers is anticipated.
      • Eyewear: sunglasses from TBD Eyewear and Seline were seen everywhere.
      • Other accessories: pocket squares, watches (Omega, Jello Cultra), lapel pins and brooches add refinement. With hats, it’s important to maintain the overall style of the look so as not to slip into “gangster cosplay.”

    Brands and collections

At Pitti Uomo 108, more than 730 brands presented their collections, half of them international. Among the most notable:

    • HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE presented “Amid Impasto of Horizons,” inspired by the landscapes of Tuscany, with pleated linen suits and abstract prints.

    • NICCOLÒ PASQUALETTI debuted with his first menswear collection SS2026, combining sheer fabrics, asymmetric silhouettes, and denim.

    • POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) from Seoul showcased functional constructions and asymmetric cuts in an industrial setting.

    • TOMMY HILFIGER presented “Tommy Hilfiger New York,” highlighting the relevance of formal menswear in a fresh interpretation.

    • BRUNELLO CUCINELLI emphasized lightness, natural fabrics, and refined details for SS’26: elongated jackets and wide trousers in a soft palette.

    • GUESS JEANS showed SS2026 with Airwash technology for denim, nodding to the aesthetics of the 2000s.

    • TIGER OF SWEDEN drew inspiration from Swedish modernism, creating clean and concise silhouettes.

Ukrainian brands at Pitti Uomo. As part of the Angels For Fashion initiative, supported by fashion expert Jen Sidari, three Ukrainian brands were presented:

    • GUNIA Project showcased the collection “NAÏVE” with embroidered shirts and ceramics.

    • THEO presented looks that combine structure and softness, with an emphasis on individuality and freedom of movement.

    • GUDU took part for the second time with a collection made from upcycled denim and synthetic fabrics, emphasizing ethical production.

    Street Style Pitti Uomo

The atmosphere beyond the runways is an integral part of Pitti Uomo. Numerous tastemakers, often well known on Instagram, show their “effortless” style. It’s not just a fashion show, but a chance to see how professionals and enthusiasts integrate trends into their own looks, inspiring others. Pitti Uomo proves you can look “cool and relaxed” and at the same time be “well dressed.”

Impact on the industry and the men’s wardrobe

The trends of Pitti Uomo inevitably reach boutiques and online stores. We will see more collections emphasizing lightness, natural fabrics, and refined details, as well as a fresh reading of formal menswear. Especially useful observations for gentlemen:

    • Start with a capsule wardrobe that is easy to mix and match.
    • Build your wardrobe gradually, as style evolves over time.
    • Accessories add depth and character to a look. Use them to tie shades together into a single ensemble.
    • For summer suits, choose unlined models, as they breathe better.
    • Avoid overly stark contrast, for example, black shoes with white trousers; opt for lighter or brown footwear.
    • Don’t be afraid to experiment with textures and colors, but keep balance: if one piece is bright, the others should temper it.
    • Pay attention to details: well-chosen glasses, a watch, a pocket square, or even buttons can radically change a look.
    • Try new silhouettes: looser trousers and elongated jackets will add freshness to your wardrobe.
    • Remember: rules exist to be learned and then broken, where appropriate and when it adds individuality.

    Conclusion

Pitti Uomo 108 once again confirmed its status as a key event in the world of men’s style. It is not just an exhibition, but a dynamic platform where trends are born and the future of fashion is shaped. From relaxed suits to bold accessories, the event offered plenty of ideas for refreshing your wardrobe.
